Christiane Mauro LAc
Christiane Mauro, L.Ac., is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist specializing in women's health (fertility support, assisted reproductive technology, pregnancy/labor prep, menstrual regulation and menopause) and sports medicine/injuries and injury prevention, including neurofunctional acupuncture.
Christiane became inspired at a young age by her mother's visits to an acupuncturist in New York's Chinatown. She earned a Masters Degree of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, where she has been in private practice since 2004 and has enjoyed working with Rosenthal Women’s Health & Fertility since 2006.
In addition, Christiane practiced as a doula for 11 years, attending over 100 births both in hospitals and homes. She collaborates with obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives, doulas, reproductive endocrinologists, functional medicine and primary care physicians in the tri-state area. Christiane has extensive training in Western biomedicine, pathophysiology and nutritional counseling. She also has a strong background in martial arts, including studies in Qi Gong as well as in Zheng Gu Tui Na (an orthopedic massage discipline originated to prevent and treat martial arts injuries).
Christiane makes an annual labor-of-love pilgrimage with the Global Healthworks Foundation to treat rural Guatemalans with limited to no access to medical care.
Christiane is dedicated to helping single women and couples who are experiencing fertility challenges to achieve successful pregnancies through minimally invasive treatment modalities such as acupuncture, moxibustion, Gua Sha, cupping and Chinese herbal medicine. Christiane utilizes these methods in conjunction with Western physicians through a whole-systems-medicine perspective lens in order to boost success rates of IUI and IVF.
